'''Minuscule 373''' (in the [[Biblical manuscript#Gregory-Aland|Gregory-Aland]] numbering), ε 500 ([[Biblical manuscript#Von Soden|Soden]]), is a [[Greek language|Greek]] [[Lower case|minuscule]] [[manuscript]] of the [[New Testament]], on paper. [[Paleography|Paleographically]] it had been assigned to the 15th century.[1]

== Description ==

The codex contains the text of the four [[Gospel]]s on 221 paper leaves (41.5 cm by 28 cm) with [[Lacuna (manuscript)|lacunae]] at the end of John. Written in one column per page, in 46 lines with text of commentary.[1] The biblical text is written [[Stichometry|stichometrically]] and surrounded by a [[Catena (Biblical commentary)|catena]]. It contains the Ammonian Sections, subscriptions, and [[Stichometry|στιχοι]].[2]

== Text ==

The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the [[Byzantine text-type]]. [[Kurt Aland|Aland]] placed it in [[Categories of New Testament manuscripts#Category V|Category V]].[3]

== History ==

The manuscript formerly belonged to Cardinal Sirleti (1514-585), who became a librarian of the Vatican Library.[4]
It was added to the list of New Testament manuscripts by [[Johann Martin Augustin Scholz|Scholz]] (1794-1852).[2]

The manuscript is currently housed at the [[Vatican Library]] (Vat. gr. 1423) in [[Rome]].[1]
