  1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
1 And when they drew near to Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
  2 And large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.
2 saying to them, "Go into the village across from you, and immediately you shall find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to Me.
  3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for just any reason?”
3 And if any man says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them,' and immediately he will send them."
  4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them in the beginning ‘made them male and female,’
4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet, saying,
  5 And said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will be one flesh?’
5 "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King comes to you, meek, and sitting on a donkey, and a colt, the foal of a donkey.'"
  6 Therefore they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
6 And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them,
  7 They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to separate from her?”
7 and brought the donkey and the colt, and put their clothes on them, and they sat Him on them.
  8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to put away your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments on the road. Others cut down branches from the trees and scattered them on the road.
  9 And I say to you, whoever puts away his wife, except it be for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is put away commits adultery.”
9 And the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried, saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
  10 His disciples said to Him, “If this is the situation of the man with his wife, it is not good to marry.”
10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?"
  11 But He said to them, “Not all men can accept this saying, except those to whom it is given:
11 And the multitude said, "This is Jesus the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee."
  12 Because, there are some eunuchs who were born so from their mother’s womb, and there are some eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.”
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God and cast out all those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves,
  13 Then little children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.
13 and said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called the house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of thieves."
  14 But Jesus said, “Permit little children to come to Me and do not forbid them; because, of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
14 And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.
  15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were greatly displeased
  16 And, behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing should I do that I may have eternal life?”
16 and said to Him, "Do you hear what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of infants and nursing children You have perfected praise'?"
  17 And He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
17 And He left them and went out of the city into Bethany, and He lodged there.
  18 He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “ ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’
18 Now in the morning as He returned to the city, He was hungry.
  19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ “
19 And when He saw a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves only, and said to it, "Let no fruit grow on you ever again." And presently the fig tree withered away.
  20 The young man said to Him, “I have kept all these things from my youth. What do I still lack?”
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How soon the fig tree has withered away!"
  21 Jesus said to Him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come and follow Me.”
21 Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you shall not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it shall be done.
  22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, because he had many possessions.
22 And all things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."
  23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly, I say to you, that it is hard for  a  rich  man  to  enter  into   the kingdom of heaven.
23 And when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching and said, "By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?"
  24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
24 And Jesus answered and said to them, "I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things:
  25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly amazed, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
25 The baptism of John—from where did it come? From heaven or from men?" And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say to us, 'Why then did you not believe him?'
  26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
26 But if we say, 'From men,' we fear the people, for all hold John as a prophet."
  27 Then Peter replied and said to Him, “Look, we have left everything, and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?”
27 And they answered Jesus and said, "We cannot tell." And He said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
  28 And Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, that in the regeneration when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
28 "But what do you think? A certain man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.'
  29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold, and will inherit everlasting life.
29 He answered and said, 'I will not,' but afterward he repented and went.
  30 But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”
30 And he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I will go, sir,' and did not go.
31 Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. And you, when you saw it, did not repent afterward that you might believe him.
33 "Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard, and put a hedge around it, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and leased it out to farmers, and went into a far country.
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers, that they might receive its fruits.
35 And the farmers took his servants and beat one and killed another and stoned another.
36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.
37 But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will reverence my son.'
38 But when the farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and let us seize his inheritance.'
39 And they caught him and cast him out of the vineyard and slew him.
40 "Therefore, when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?"
41 They said to Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men and will lease his vineyard to other farmers who shall render him the fruits in their seasons."
42 Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone that the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner. This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?
43 Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth its fruits.
44 And whoever falls on this stone shall be broken. But on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder."
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitude, because they took Him for a prophet.
