1 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Himself, He gave them    authority    against    unclean
C H A P T E R 24 
spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of sickness and every kind of disease.
1 And Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came to Him to show Him the buildings of the temple.
  2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
2 And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, there shall not be one stone left here on another, that shall not be thrown down."
  3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
3 And as He sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world?"
  4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Take heed that no man deceives you.
  5 These twelve Jesus sent out, and commanded them, saying, “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans.
5 For many shall come in My name, saying, 'I am Christ,' and shall deceive many.
  6 But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
6 And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled. For all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
  7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in various places.
  8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
  9 Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts,
9 "Then they shall deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you, and you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake.
  10 nor bag for your journey, nor two coats, neither sandals, nor staffs; because  a  worker  is  worthy  of  his

11 And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many.
  11 “Now whatever city or town you come into, inquire who is worthy in it,
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall grow cold.

13 But he who endures to the end, the same shall be saved.
  12 And when you go into a household, greet it.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end shall come."
  13 And if the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
15 "Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand),
  14 And   whoever  shall   not  receive
16 then let those who are in Judea flee into the mountains.
you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
17 Let him who is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house.
  15 Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!
18 Do not let him who is in the field return back to take his clothes.
  16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
19 And woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse children in those days!
  17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and they will scourge you in their syn-agogues.
20 But pray that your flight is not in the winter or on the Sabbath day.
  18 And you will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
21 For then there shall be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
  19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you shall speak. For it will be given to you in that same hour what you shall speak;
22 And except those days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
  20 for it is not you who is speaking, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
23 "Then if any man says to you, 'Behold, here is Christ,' or 'There,' do not believe it.
  21 “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his
24 For false christs and false prophets shall arise and shall show great signs and wonders, to such a degree that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
child; and the children will rise up against their parents and cause them to be put to death.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
  22 And you will be hated by all people for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
26 "Therefore if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the desert,' do not go forth, or 'Behold, He is in the secret chambers,' do not believe it.
  23 But when they persecute you in one city, flee to another. For truly, I say to you, you will not have gone  through  the cities  of  Israel, before the Son of Man comes.
27 For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even to the west, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.
  24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor the servant above his master.
28 For wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
  25 It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant as his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!
29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
  26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered, that will not be revealed, and hidden, that will not be known.
30 And then the sign of the Son of Man shall appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
  27 “Whatever I tell you in the dark, that speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, that preach on the housetops.
31 And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
  28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy  both  soul  and body  in hell.
32 "Now learn a parable from the fig tree: When its branch is yet tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
  29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge.
33 So you, likewise, when you see all these things, know that it is near—even at the doors.
  30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
34 Truly I say to you, this generation shall not pass until all these things are fulfilled.
  31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.
  32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me  before  men,   him  I  will  also
36 "But of that day and hour no man knows, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
confess before My Father who  is  in heaven.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.
  33 But   whoever  denies  Me  before
38 For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.
  34 “Do not think that I came to send peace on earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword.
40 Then two shall be in the field; the one shall be taken and the other left.
  35 For I have come to ‘divide a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter -in-law against her mother-in-law,
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken and the other left.
  36 and ‘a man’s enemies shall be those of his own household.
42 Watch, therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord will come.
  37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of    Me.
43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
  38 And he who does not take up his cross, and follow after Me, is not worthy of Me.
44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at such an hour as you do not think.
  39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
45 "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
  40 “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.
46 Blessed is that servant whom his lord, when he comes, shall find so doing.
  41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.
47 Truly, I say to you that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
  42 And whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.
48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, 'My lord delays his coming,'
49 and begins to strike his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards,
50 the lord of that servant shall come on a day when he does not look for him and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 and shall cut him in pieces and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
