1 And Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came to Him to show Him the buildings of the temple.
3 Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, observe and do that. But do not do according to their works. For they say, and do not do.
2 And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, there shall not be one stone left here on another, that shall not be thrown down."
4 For they bind heavy burdens, and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders. But they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
3 And as He sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world?"
5 But they do all their works to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments,
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Take heed that no man deceives you.
6 and love the best places at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
5 For many shall come in My name, saying, 'I am Christ,' and shall deceive many.
7 and greetings in the markets, and to be called by men, 'Rabbi, Rabbi.'
6 And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled. For all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
8 But you, do not be called 'Rabbi.' For One is your Master, even Christ, and all you are brothers.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in various places.
9 And do not call any man on the earth your father, for One is your Father, who is in heaven.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
10 Do not be called masters, for One is your Master, even Christ.
9 "Then they shall deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you, and you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake.
11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.
10 And then many shall stumble, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
12 And whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted."
11 And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many.
13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men. For you neither go in yourselves nor allow those who are entering to go in.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall grow cold.
14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you shall receive the greater damnation.
13 But he who endures to the end, the same shall be saved.
15 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end shall come."
16 "Woe to you, you blind guides, who say, 'Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing. But whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!'
15 "Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand),
17 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold?
16 then let those who are in Judea flee into the mountains.
18 And, 'Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing. But whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is guilty.'
17 Let him who is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house.
19 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift?
18 Do not let him who is in the field return back to take his clothes.
20 Therefore whoever swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it.
19 And woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse children in those days!
21 And whoever swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells in it.
20 But pray that your flight is not in the winter or on the Sabbath day.
22 And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it.
21 For then there shall be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law: judgment, mercy, and faith. These you ought to have done, and not leave the others undone.
22 And except those days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
24 You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel.
23 "Then if any man says to you, 'Behold, here is Christ,' or 'There,' do not believe it.
25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you make the outside of the cup and of the platter clean, but inside they are full of extortion and excess.
24 For false christs and false prophets shall arise and shall show great signs and wonders, to such a degree that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
26 You blind Pharisee! First clean what is inside the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
27 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed sepulchres that indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and of all uncleanness.
26 "Therefore if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the desert,' do not go forth, or 'Behold, He is in the secret chambers,' do not believe it.
28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
27 For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even to the west, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.
29 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
28 For wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
30 and say, 'If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.'
29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
31 "Therefore you are witnesses to yourselves that you are the children of those who killed the prophets.
30 And then the sign of the Son of Man shall appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.
31 And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
33 You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell?
32 "Now learn a parable from the fig tree: When its branch is yet tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
34 Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes. And some of them you shall kill and crucify, and some of them you shall scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,
33 So you, likewise, when you see all these things, know that it is near—even at the doors.
35 that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you slew between the temple and the altar.
34 Truly I say to you, this generation shall not pass until all these things are fulfilled.
36 Truly I say to you, all these things shall come on this generation.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.
37 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you. How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you would not!
36 "But of that day and hour no man knows, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
38 Behold, your house is left to you desolate.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.
39 For I say to you, you shall not see Me from now on until you shall say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
38 For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.
40 Then two shall be in the field; the one shall be taken and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken and the other left.
42 Watch, therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord will come.
43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at such an hour as you do not think.
45 "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant whom his lord, when he comes, shall find so doing.
47 Truly, I say to you that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, 'My lord delays his coming,'
49 and begins to strike his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards,
50 the lord of that servant shall come on a day when he does not look for him and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 and shall cut him in pieces and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
