1 Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus saying,
1 At the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the sepulchre.
2 “Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? Because they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”
2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
3 But He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
4 Because, God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother; and, He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.
4 And the guards shook for fear of him and became as dead men.
5 But you say, ‘Whosoever says to his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you may have received from me has become a gift,”
5 And the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not fear, for I know that you seek Jesus, who was crucified.
6 and does not honor his father or his mother, because he will be exempt.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
6 He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 You hypocrites! Isaiah correctly prophesied about you, saying:
7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead. And behold, He is going before you to Galilee. You shall see Him there. Behold, I have told you."
8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
9 But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the com-mandments of men.’ ”
9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice." And they came and held Him by the feet and worshipped Him.
10 Then He called the crowds and said to them, “Hear and under-stand:
10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go tell My brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they shall see Me."
11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and revealed to the chief priests all the things that were done.
12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
12 And when they had assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of money to the soldiers,
13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
13 saying, "Say, 'His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we slept.'
14 Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
14 And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will persuade him and secure you."
15 Then Peter replied and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
16 And Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding?
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to a mountain that Jesus had appointed for them.
17 Do you still not understand that whatever enters into the mouth goes into the stomach, and is cast out into the drain?
17 And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him, but some doubted.
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All power has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Because, out of the heart comes evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.
19 Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 These  are  the  things  which defile
20 teaching them to observe all the things that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." Amen.
a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region, and shouted out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, You Son of David! My daughter is severely tormented with a demon.”
23 But He did not reply one word to her. And His disciples came and asked Him, saying, “Send her away; because, she shouts out to us.”
24 But He replied and said, “I am not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
26 But He replied and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread, and cast it to dogs.”
27 And she said, “True, Lord, yet the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
28 Then Jesus replied and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
29 Then Jesus left there, and came near to the sea of Galilee, and went up on a mountain, and sat down there.
30 And large crowds came to Him, having with them those who were lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they placed them down  at  Jesus’  feet;  and  He healed
them.
31 So the  crowds  marveled  when
they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Then Jesus called His disciples to
Himself and said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because, they have continued with Me for three days now and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away fasting, lest they faint on the way.”
33 And His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a large crowd?”
34 And Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”
35 And He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground.
36 And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, then broke them and gave to His disciples; and the disciples to the crowd.
37 So they all ate, and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left.
38 Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.
39 And He sent the crowd away, got into a boat, and came into the region of Magdala.
