  1 So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came into His own city.
1 And it came to pass that when Jesus had finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee and came into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
  2 Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”
2 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.
  3 And, immediately some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!”
3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?"
  4 But Jesus knowing their thoughts said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?
4 And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female'
  5 For which is easiest to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk?’
5 and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave father and mother and shall cling to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh'?
  6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” then He said to the paralytic, “Rise up, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
6 Therefore they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate."
  7 And he rose up, and departed to his house.
7 They said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?"
  8 Now when the crowds saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
8 He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
  9 And as Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he rose up, and followed Him.
9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another commits adultery. And whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery."
  10 Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples.
10 His disciples said to Him, "If the case of the man with his wife is so, it is good not to marry."
  11 And  when  the  Pharisees  saw  it,
11 But He said to them, "All men cannot receive this saying, except those to whom it is given.
they said to His disciples, “Why does  your  Teacher  eat  with  tax collectors and sinners?”
12 For there are some eunuchs who were so born from their mother's womb, and there are some eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it."
  12 But when Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
13 Then there were little children brought to Him, that He should put His hands on them and pray. And the disciples rebuked them.
  13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
14 But Jesus said, "Allow little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them. For of such is the kingdom of heaven."
  14 Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast?”
15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
  15 And Jesus said to them, “Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
16 And behold, one came and said to Him, "Good Master, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?"
  16 No man puts a piece of new cloth on old clothing, because, that which is put in to patch it rips away from the clothing, and the tear is made worse.
17 And He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? There is no one good but One—that is, God. But if you will enter into life, keep the commandments."
  17 Neither do they put new grape juice into old containers, or else the containers break, and the grape juice spills out, and the containers perish. But they put new grape juice into new containers, and both
18 He said to Him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, "You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness.

19 Honor your father and your mother. And you shall love your neighbor as yourself."
  18 While He spoke these things to them, behold, a certain ruler came,
20 The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?"
and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand upon her, and she will live.”
21 Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you have and give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven. And come and follow Me."
  19 So  Jesus  rose  up,  and followed him, and so did His disciples.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
  20 And, suddenly a woman, who had a discharge of blood for twelve years, came from behind Him, and touched the edge of His clothes.
23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you that a rich man shall enter into the kingdom of heaven with difficulty.
  21 For she said within herself, “If only I may touch His clothes, I will be made well.”
24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
  22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, “Be cheerful daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
25 When His disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, "Who then can be saved?"
  23 And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the musicians and the people making a noise,
26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
  24 He said to them, “Make room, because the girl is not dead, but is sleeping.” And they laughed and mocked at Him.
27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, "Behold, we have abandoned all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?"
  25 But when the people were put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.
28 And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me shall also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
  26 And the fame of this went out into all that land.
29 And everyone who has abandoned houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for My name's sake shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
  27 And when Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, and saying, “You, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
30 But many who are first shall be last, and the last shall be first."
  28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him.
And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
  29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”
  30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus firmly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.”
  31 But when they had departed, they spread the fame about Him in all that country.
  32 As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a mute man possessed with a demon.
  33 And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, “It has never been seen like this in Israel!”
  34 But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons.”
  35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
  36 But when He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were ex-hausted, and scattered everywhere, like sheep having no shepherd.
  37 Then He said to His disciples, “Truly the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
  38 Therefore  pray  the  Lord  of  the
harvest that He will send out laborers into His harvest.”
